Snakemaniais a game adaptation for upgraded ZX Spectrum systems, based on the original SAM Coupe version released in 1992 by Kassoft of E.S.I. The game features 16-colour graphics and music produced with E-Tracker. Gameplay, menus, and mechanics mirror those seen in the SAM Coupe version, with graphical effects adapted for HGFX systems.

The core gameplay centers around navigating a maze, collecting items, and progressing through multiple rounds. The game incorporates a scoring system, a round timer, and a limited number of lives. A trainer mode allows the player to enable or disable the timer, set infinite lives, and quickly advance to the next level.

Distinctive elements include technical replication of original menu and in-game control options as well as visually enhanced graphics for the supported platforms. The game is categorized under logic and arcade genres, preserving the mechanics and structure of classic snake-style games.
