String Art
This short program is a most entertaining graphical demonstration
of the Spectrum's ability to generate "string art". For the
uninitiated, string art involves hammering nails into a clothcovered board, in a series of lines, and subsequently joining the
nails with a coloured thread. This simple technique produces quite
attractive results, considering the materials used. In this
simulation, the computer draws a series of lines which gradually
grow, shrink, change directions and bounce off the sides of the
screen. For those who have played the arcade game Qix, this sort of
movement of lines will be familiar.
There are no fundamental peculiarities in this program although a
line which randomly changed the colour of the "thread" might
improve the overall effect.
